Emily Grooms Eldridge
Master's in Music Education
Mrs. Eldridge has been a teacher for over a decade, teaching many subjects. Teaching music is her passion and she has dedicated herself to learning her craft through many years of instruction at Silva Piano Studios with Dr. Francisco and Mireille Silva as a child. She then went on to study piano with Dr. Brandt Fredriksen at Georgia State University where she completed her undergraduate degree in music.
After graduating, Emily began teaching choir in the private school setting. Afterward, she obtained her Master’s degree in Music Education where she wrote a thesis titled “Piano Instruction for the 21st Century: A Case for Alternative Instruction”.
It was here in her graduate studies where Emily read extensively about best teaching practices and sought to improve upon common teaching methods. She has made it her goal to create quality method books for beginners which will develop a well-rounded music education for students in piano.
Mrs. Eldridge is a published author and has had one of her articles published in The South African Music Teacher. Emily has plans to release many books and more articles over the coming years and as she pursues a doctoral degree in Teaching and Learning.
